Map of China's New Energy Industry Agglomeration Cities
On November 11th, Hurun Research Institute released the "2022 Hurun China New Energy Industry Agglomeration City List", with a total of 50 shortlisted cities. Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing, Wuhan, and Changzhou were selected as the top five cities with high agglomeration of China's new energy industry. Nanjing, Suzhou, Guangzhou, Chengdu, and Hefei ranked in the top ten.
The five cities where new energy enterprises gather are Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Tianjin, and Suzhou. The five cities where new energy small and medium-sized enterprises cluster are Shenzhen, Dongguan, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Suzhou. The five cities where new energy investment is concentrated are Changzhou, Hefei, Wuhan, Nanjing, and Chengdu.
There are 26 cities listed in the East China region, accounting for more than half of the list. Jiangsu is a province with a high concentration of new energy, with a total of 10 cities on the list, with Changzhou, Nanjing, and Suzhou all ranking in the top ten.

2022 Hurun China New Energy Industry Agglomeration City List
1) Shenzhen
Located at the forefront of the the Pearl River Delta, it is a link and bridge connecting Hong Kong and the mainland, and plays an important role in China's high-tech industries, financial services, foreign trade exports, marine transportation, creative culture and other aspects. BYD, the global leader in new energy vehicles, is headquartered in Shenzhen.
2) Shanghai
A typical city that thrives on commerce and ports is the core city of the Yangtze River Delta integration. The country has endowed Shanghai with a strategic positioning as an international financial, economic, trade, and shipping center, as well as a global science and technology innovation center. The headquarters of wind power companies Shanghai Electric, Shanghai Electric, and battery leading company Putai Lai are all located in Shanghai.
3) Beijing
The center of China's politics, culture, technology, information, and foreign exchanges. The new energy vehicle company BAIC Blue Valley, photovoltaic company Jingyuntong, and wind power company Huaneng International Headquarters are all located in Beijing.
4) Wuhan
A central city in central China, a thoroughfare to nine provinces, and a major inland water, land, and air transportation hub. The headquarters of new energy battery enterprise Precision Testing Electronics and photovoltaic enterprise Deer Laser are located in Wuhan.
5) Changzhou
One of the central cities in the Yangtze River Delta region. In the early stages of reform and opening up, Changzhou built an industrial system characterized by the "nine dragons", known as China's "first rising industrial star city". The headquarters of photovoltaic companies Trina Solar and lithium battery companies Zhongxin Aviation and Honeycomb Energy are all located in Changzhou.
6) Nanjing
Known as the capital of the Six Dynasties, it has a profound cultural heritage and is also a "mega city" in the Yangtze River Delta. The headquarters of new energy enterprises Hanrui Cobalt Industry and Guodian Nanrui are located in Nanjing.
7) Suzhou
Positioned as a national historical and cultural city and a scenic tourist city, a national high-tech industrial base, and one of the important central cities of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration. The headquarters of Huasheng Lithium Battery, a lithium-ion battery enterprise, and Gudewei, a photovoltaic enterprise, are both located in Suzhou.
8) Guangzhou
We have a comprehensive transportation system that connects the world and radiates across the country, with a unique geographical location. It is also known as the "millennium commercial capital". Xiaopeng Automobile, the leader of new energy vehicles, is headquartered in Guangzhou.
9) Chengdu
It is the birthplace of Bashu culture, known as the "Land of Abundance", and also an important central city, commercial and logistics center, and comprehensive transportation hub in the western region. The headquarters of photovoltaic company Tongwei and power company Chuanneng Power are both located in Chengdu.
10) Hefei
One of the 28 major inland ports in China, a national Class II open port, and a major waterway freight distribution center in central Anhui. In recent years, the NIO factory has settled in Hefei, promoting the construction of a complete industrial chain for intelligent electric vehicles in Hefei. In addition, the headquarters of lithium battery leader Guoxuan High tech is also located in Hefei.
